The Department of Justice is recommending that anyone considering applying for citizenship this summer, who might also need to travel internationally, to NOT submit their applications and accompanying passports between the 25th of June to the 30th of September 2021.
The Department is advising that they cannot guarantee a speedy return of passports for new applications during this time.
If you have already submitted your passport with an application and now require it for emergency travel reasons such as medical reasons or to sit medical examinations you should email us at citizenshipinfo@justice.ie setting out the reasons and provide
A colour scanned copy of the supporting documentation such as a letter from your medical consultant or timetable of exams from the relevant examination institute/authority,
The An Post tracking number of your application and
The date of receipt in the Citizenship Tipperary office.
