Employment Permits Online: Progress Made, Support Continues
Since its official launch on 28 April, the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment’s new Employment Permits Online system has shown promise, but also presented challenges. Over the past few weeks, users and stakeholders have faced various technical and operational issues. However, we’re pleased to see that key progress has been made.
Major Issues Resolved and Applications Underway
At Future Direct, we’re actively working within the new system and are glad to share that many of the major technical issues have been addressed. As a result, we are now actively submitting employment permit applications for our clients.
This progress comes after continued communication with the Department and a dedicated effort to navigate early-stage issues. While some users still experience minor glitches, significant improvements have been seen in account setup, verification processes, and payment functionalities.
Remaining Challenges and Ongoing Support
Despite these advancements, applications submitted before the system’s launch continue to be delayed. Some users are also encountering sporadic issues with verification codes and submission processes. The Department has committed to ongoing system enhancements and encourages users to contact their support desk with any concerns.
